Spring Gala
New
Orleans, LA
The Sisters of St. Joseph of Medaille held their eleventh annual Spring Gala on Saturday, March 12, from 8 to11 p.m. at Bank One Center in New Orleans. The Gala began with a Patron Party and live auction on the 52nd floor overlooking the French Quarter and the Mississippi River. The theme this year celebrated a special milestone of service for the Sisters – it was 150 years ago in 1855 that the first three sisters arrived from southern France to begin ministry in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi.
Proceeds from the annual gala go to the support of the elderly and retired Sisters of St. Joseph who have ministered in schools and hospitals in Bay St. Louis, New Orleans, Baton Rouge, New Roads, Morgan City, Grand Coteau and other areas in southeast Louisiana and southwest Mississippi. Over 300 supporters enjoyed food from 16 fine New Orleans restaurants and 3 caterers and included a very popular chocolate fountain. Guests bid on 325 silent auction items while the Lars Edegran trio circulated throughout the evening providing musical entertainment.
