Within the on-going life of the Medaille congregation, relationships take on a variety of forms. Spiritual and ministerial bonds develop and grow to unite members to members and to those lay persons who want to commit themselves to our charism as Associates. The charism of reconciling love has a vibrant future in our world, a divided world so much in need of healing.
The purpose of the Associate Program is to share and extend this charism by:
. welcoming those who desire to live as unifiers and reconcilers
. associating with women and men who share the same gospel values
. engendering mutual hope and new life in both members and associates.
Associates are men and women who are twenty-one years or older and called by the Spirit to live at a deeper level his or her baptismal commitment.
Associates have opportunities for
. sharing with the Sisters in the living of their charism
. growing spiritually with one another and the Sisters of St. Joseph
. sharing their gifts in service to others and sharing in the mission
. participating in community workshops, days of prayer and study, celebrations
. developing bonds that are mutually enriching
Associates desire
. to share the spirituality of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Medaille
. to live the charism of unity and reconciliation
. to participate in the mission of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Medaille.
They commit to gathering regularly for prayer, study and celebration and to participating in ministries that flow from the charism of the Sisters of St. Joseph.
